Technical Scuttle Panel removal

I Have water building up as when I turn sharp my foot gets wet lol.... I can see it pooling up so at least I know where the problem is!

On a slightly related note selling My old BULLETPROOF Dynamic 1.2 was my biggest regret in 12 years of driving...... and I've owned a corsa! I'm just having small problem after problem with this new Panda :bang:

If you mean with "Scuttle Panel" the black piece of plastic under the front window where the wipers are then it is just clicked in a profile.
With a controlled tuck it comes out it's locking profile.
First remove wipers, then the plastic locking pins, and the a controlled tuck.

To be fair, the old Panda also had water in the footwell issues, as like you said, there's a drain hole behind the scuttle panel that gets clogged up, sending the water through the heater core and into the footwell instead of down and out. On a particularly bad case with my old 1.2 Dynamic, I used the long FM aerial to poke out all the gunk and leaves, and it was good as new.

Well, we all see the past through golden goggles. I'd say I had the most adventures with my first Panda as well, so all my memories of it now are fond. Even poking leaves out of the water duct in pouring rain with wet feet (because it all came gushing in when I turned). At the time I probably didn't say nice things, but the first thing I thought when I got home was how practical of Fiat it was to include an aerial long enough to poke-clean the drain holes. Other things I'll probably miss are cheaper tyres, the chuckable handling with no electronic stability, and possibly more interior volume (at least it feels that way though this may not be the case).

Last week exit the Carwash and took a turn to the left and water was poring in on the passenger side like no tomorrow.
Both drains where completely clotted.
With the new Panda you can easily reach the drain rubber thingies through the engine bay, i removed the rubber thingies all together, problem solved permanently.

So what's the point of the thingies (technical term)? Fiat wouldn't be spending a couple of pence on thingies for no reason.

I have no idea what the pros and cons are with or without them in place.
One pro is that de holes are much bigger and the gunk and leaves can go much easier through.

I have heard that they can prevent engine bay fumes from entering the cabin...not sure how true this is. I had taken mine out too, but replaced them to reduce water drips onto the bulk head insulation. Even with the duck bills water still drips onto it so I may try to waterproof the effected area of the insulation material in summer.

I just push them out of there holdings, if i have the time some day i will remove the Scuttle Panel and clean everything up and put them back.
I did remove them like that, because i needed a fast way to clear the water out of there, so water was not coming in the cabin anymore.

Is this the same procedure for a 2012-present Panda please?
I have taken the three plastic clips off and it doesn't seem to move very easily and don't want to break anything. I need to get to the suspension top mounts to replace them.

For post 2012 Panda -
- Remove the pull-off panels in front of each wiper spindle (pull from the right hand side of each one as that side unclips)
- Remove the wiper arms
- 3 clips at front edge (engine side) plus one at each side (2-Part plastic ‘rivet’ where the central/inner part pulls up to allow the outer part to come away.
- Remove the rubber weatherstrip from the leading edge of the scuttle cover (Lift up one end first then pull along to remove)
Now lift the leading edge and pull the panel towards you and it will all come free. - reach under the left end of the panel and detach the windscreen washer piping
- Bend the panel slightly to get it past the bonnet hinges. Beware: if you have heated windscreen the connections (4 bits of blue plastic ‘foil’ at base of the screen) are fragile.
Reassemble in reverse order.

I have a set of photos, but am away a couple of days so can’t add in now.

Hi just read your post its most informative I have followed it to the letter but when I come to the lift and pull it seems stuck fast and I am afraid of snapping something does it naturally need a bit of welly as parts for these cars seem difficult to obtain if they get broken, any piccys would be appreciated thank you for your time.

I’ll see if I can find the photos I took when doing mine. If all the screws and clips are out, it was quite easy.... so suspect you may have missed one.
