Hello,
Not been in this forum for a while, but that is a good thing, shows my old Punto is behaving itself. Until now.
A recent underbody check shows that the rear spring cups are rusting away, a hole in offside, getting bigger. My mate, an MOT tester tells me it will definitely not pass an mot.
A shame, it has only done 93000 miles, and in good nick.
I wondered if anyone in this forum has a serviceable rear suspension assembly stashed away.
All the scrapyards around here are being shutdown for so called environmental baloney. The ones that are open still say they haven't had a Mk2 Punto in for years, so unless someone has a rear axle assembly, then this Punto will have to be scrapped.
I thought I would ask this forum as a last try. I probably will not buy another car, getting on a bit now, lol.
Thanks,
Greg

Very few Mk 2 Puntos about now. The car is 20 years old now, with little resale value, especially with a rusted rear suspension. Thanks Judderbar, by the time I pay for a new assembly, have it shipped and fitted, that will be twice what car is worth. So scrapped it will be.
Thanks for your help,
Greg

I got rid of a Mk2 Punto last year. I don't think they're that rare, I still see them on the road occasionally and drove past a parked one today. If you really want one then you'll find one.

Try these guys, 'failsworth fiat spares' (ebay link below)
currently has 3 MK2 on site at the moment.
Had several bits off him for our mk2b, also for our Multipla.
Good service from him, and sensible prices as well.

Worth checking what he has?

Hope this helps..

I just had a nosey around his shop. He's supplying and fitting a Grande Punto gearbox for £420, a very good price, although no mention of mileage on it. I don't need one, but its useful to know and he's an hours drive away for me.

Always found him genuinely helpful, happy to check out parts for you, and offer a bit of advice as well. Sadly, too far away from me to pop in to pick up stuff or have work done.
