Morning!
Hoping someone can explain something to me. I’m sure it’s an easy fix and that I just am missing something. 30 years of driving with a manual handbrake and now have an automatic one.
I live on a steep’ish’ road. And I’m struggling.
This morning I’m blocked in tightly by two cars. To release the epb I have to press the brake which would mean rolling forward before finding clutch point to reverse uphill to try and get out of parking spot.
How do you do it all with only 2 feet.
I’m sure to all in the know this is a dumb question but I’m just not getting it.
How do I know if the hill assist is on? My friends car has a red/green light which shows if hill assist is engaged but mine doesn’t. I have no faith that I’m not going to roll forward.
Fiat 2016x pop manual.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi If you post this in the 500x specific forum theres likely more folk that might have an answer over there!.
As an aside who the hell decided we NEEDED an ELECTRIC parking brake as far as i remember the manual type has worked perfectly for nearly 100 years!- tec for the sake of it is NOT progress IMOA -best of luck!.

Hi Steve.
Ok. Thanks will do.
100% agree. At least I felt like I was in charge of a manual handbrake - this one I’m never sure if it’s on or not (unless parked!)
Thanks for reply.
