Classic!
Classic!
It's a genuine question. The guy obviously doesn't have much experience of cars so that's what the forum is here for. To help and teach fellow members who need help and to answer any questions they may have.
We all didn't know everything we do now at some point in the past.
Thank you to Brav-oh and trekster for your replies. It has made sense now. I would like to thank you for your comments re: the above. You are absolutely right. I dont have a vast knowledge of cars, nor do i profess to. I thought this forum was for asking questions and helping others which is why i joined.
Just because i dont know as much as you Peerzy, does not mean i should be laughed at for not knowing something.
It simply does not help anyone by you posting the word "classic" as a reply. If at all anything, it shows you have way too much time on your hands.
Good night folks!
One would imagine if the car is 'on' then the engine must be running, it's simple common sense. Would this not have some up when say the OP was learning to drive a car, or test driving the car?
To say they have brought a car thats pretty new and have never before in their life noticed that when you turn the key the car is on, even if you don't rev the nuts off it is mental.
Turn your TV on and go to a channel that shows all black, doesn't mean it's not using electricity.
"When I turn the key the car makes a noise, should it do this?"
How do you pass a pratical driving test without ever noticing any car engine will be running when the key is turned?
He didn't know so done the correct thing. Asked on a forum where people with knowledge could help.
Berating the guy due to his (in your opinion) lack of common sense isn't the way to deal with his genuine question. A simple answer would have informed him of what he didn't know.

Right you lot.. I don't care who started it I'm finishing it![]()
I love a bit of friendly banter.
Absolutely spot on, some questions may appear foolish to some. some to all, but none will appear foolish to no one, or something like that.
The forum is here to collectively discuss cake related topics... oh and answer questions and resolve issues with cars.. If neither of these can be addressed then there is no point and we'd all be attending fiat dealers on a daily basis![]()
