Technical Replacing heater matrix

Car: Stilo 1.6 mw 2003 (left hand drive)

There was some leaks through heater matrix and now i'm thinking of replacing that matrix. Every thread suggests to take the whole dash out. Here's something: https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/261961-engine-coolant-leak-heating-matrix-leaking.html

Is that matrix possible to change anyway easier ?

I'm afraid that is the only way it can be removed, the heater matrix is bolted onto the metal dash support frame from inside so the dashboard needs to be removed then the dash frame. While you're at it why don't you upgrade to the digital climate control heater matrix? It's a straight swap if you get the digital AC control panel with it.
