Hi all!

My last MOT came back fairly clean, the only advisory's being related to wear on the flexible exhaust section.

I've Googled this a bit and it seems replacing it depends what's been done before etc, all a bit vague to me.

My fear is this will require cutting something which I'd rather not do under axle stands on my driveway to be honest.

Attached a photo of the flexi - can anyone tell me if/how I should attempt it?

I'm also assuming - worst case - getting a garage to do it would be quick and cheap?

Hi, 🙂that looks very standard to me

Probably 95% the same as doing it on a 500..
So GUIDES and info on here should be very relevant

I suspect you unbolt the front and at the Manicat

And slice straight through the plain tube at the rear of the flexi

I'd imagine most garages would replace the centre pipe section.

Unless you have a very accommodating local indy who would be prepared to cut out only the flexi.

Here's my DIY replacement flexi on 169 Panda. True, lying under a car with an angle grinder isn't the most fun, and please be safe if considering, but it was fairly quick work.

Although looking again at your pictures there doesn't seem much room between the flange in front of the flexi and the exhaust hanger behind it. Might make it tricky.

If replacing only the flexi you might have to lose the section with the hanger welded on, and replace it with an exhaust clamp facing sideways and bolted through the hanger rubber?
