General Replacement wing mirror glass?

Does anyone know from experience if its possible to get hold of replacement mirror glass for the wing mirrors on a Bravo? Not tried the Fiat dealer yet - wanted to check this forum first.

Some bright spark coming the other way on a muddy narrow B-road insisted on driving down the middle of the road and I couldn't go any further to the left - hence driver-side wing mirrors collided and my mirror shattered

The housing for the mirror and the mechanism for adjusting the position is all intact - I just need to replace the mirror glass which has clips on it (and a couple of terminals for demisting) and just pushes back into the housing and mechanism.

Oh thought it would be ages until mirrors and wipers were available from motor factors... I guessed wrong!

hellcat,A1 autostores even do universal ones close to your existing one if not got exact one for car.

No we're good. But would always get a genuine part, or pattern part rather than a universal jobbie.

Seems a bit of a poor ecconomy on a brand new car to fit a mirror glass that isn't a perfect fit.

yea but with the recession ,maybe a lot of people will go for cheapest option ,ie a £5 one instead of the £15 one.

Its about £16 delivered for a genuine Fiat part - I'll check with the local dealer tomorrow too just in case they are cheaper.
