pull the knob off the front
undo the securing screw
pull it out
on fitting the new one get an old thin screwdriver or a welding rod put a 10mm 90% bend on the end
put behind the wiring loom plug
pull it onto the new switch
refit screw

im sure this is how i did them, dont remember taking out that lump of plastic
short loom was the problem

main problem was the switches used to seize i used to dribble a little wd40 type lubricant down the spindles and this freed them up in situ no dissasembling

Sorry to jump in does the cover/trim pull of easy what is the best tool please, I have a light out and my fan speed will not work on number 3 speed seeting many thanks

Thanks SB have got the switch off instead of trying to remove the whole thing,to the person with fan not working on 3rd speed it could be the resistor, which is a common fault and there are threads on here to replace it, The cover came off fairly easy you have to remove the section that surrounds the brake handle and gear lever first
