Morning all - I had a new fuse box fitted last week. The air con is no longer working and I checked fuses etc but looks like there is no relay in position T05. I think that controls the compressor (from other posts on this forum). I think it is a 20A relay but just wondering if anyone has the part number please? Or is it the same as all the other relays? I am looking at the diagrams on this forum and the pins look in a different order for T05 and I don’t want to cause any damage.

It is a 2010 Ducato X250.

Thanks

Please inform the forum as to why you needed a new fusebox, as there have been several instances of failure and your input may be useful to others. Sharing information is what a forum is for.

Two versions of micro automotive relays are used in Ducato fuseboxes. They are coloured red and black, with the difference being that the red version has higher rated 30A contacts. Both versions have normally open contacts, and the relay pin layouts are identical.

The Bosch system for automotive terminals makes the relay coil terminal 86 positive, and if using relays with a suppression diode in parallel with the coil it is essential that this polarity is observed. Fiat do not follow the Bosch system, and the coil terminals may be either polarity. Consequently only relays with a suppression resistor are used.

As my Ducato came without aircon, I do not know which version was used for T05 which controls the compressor clutch, but eLearn for the x244 shows a 7.5A fuse for that circuit.

To sumarise you need a 12V micro automotive relay, with normally open (NO) contacts, which has a suppression resistor in parallel with the coil. Suitable relays are readily available on Ebay, at a much lower price than an OEM part which will command an eye watering price.

The part numbers for both types of OEM relay, are moulded onto the relay covers.

Thank you for your response.

In answer to your question. My Ducato MH had decided to put on the airbag and handbrake lights. Fiat specialist took a look and saw water damage to the fuse box, so that has been replaced. But hasn’t solved the problem, which they now believe is the BCM so I am on the search for a replacement BCM that I can get cloned. Hopefully that will resolve the issue! But not much success yet in finding the part number I am needing so am checking eBay regularly.

Thanks
