Hi Guys! I am new to this great forum and hope to find some advice here
I have some issues with my car (1.6, Multijet Eco, done about 2000 miles) and it needs to be checked - suspension knocks (right front weel), and recurrent increased fuel consumption. As already found here, the Bravo's suspension is a common problem.
As to consumption, when driving on the same route with same driving conditions (same traffic, normal revs, speed and proper gear, warmed up engine), the consumption periodically increases without any reason.
How do I know about the increase? I use car’s computerized instant consumption gauge (displayed on the dashboard) Increased consumption (which is roughly 25mpg on 4th gear with 1300 revs) continues until I fully stop the car (switching off and on).
After this stopping procedure with engine off/on (which takes just a few seconds), I carry on driving (again, on the same route with the same conditions) and computers starts to show normal figure (about 50mpg, on 4th gear with 1300 revs ). At first, I thought – well, maybe because of engine was cold, different driving conditions, tyres, new tight engine, etc…but now, I know that there is some problem. Either computer gauge lies (which is unlikely) or computer disel injection system is dodgy.
So, I am taking the car to closest Fiat garage soon, to be fully diagnosed and suspension repaired. Any advice from you would be much appreciated. Does anybody have similar? Cheers!
