I know we've had a few threads on tyres in the past but it's time to update and pool our knowledge on the subject everybody loves best :)

We now have rating systems and as Palio puts it 'fuel savery' tyres. Let's cut through this by ignoring it (suspect it is about as reliable as mpg figures anyway) and come to our own conclusions.

So let's begin with the standard Panda steelies, I'm running 155/65/r13.

I'm presuming this is correct (they were on when I got Fizzle).

I've already posted about Uniroyal tyres and received an underwhelming response.

Let's stick with the £30-£40 range, any hidden gems out there?

Who's best online retailer or high street, chain or local 'bloke round the corner'?

Maybe if we get some good recommendations we could add this info to the parts thread - if!

C'mon guys lets talk rubber :p

Standard size on the 13" rims are 135/13 (full profile) and the option was 155/65 R13 which is what I fitted to Firecolour. I used Goodyear Duragrip but just fitted some Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons to our Fiesta as I was so impressed with the winter tyres on my main car (Audi).

Pneus Online do the Duragrips for £36.70 and the Vector 4 Seasons for £41.50 delivered.

Camskill do the Duragrips for £38.49 and the Vector 4 Seasons for £43.99 delivered so Pneus are a bit cheaper. My last set of tyres ordered came from Pneus and were delivered (from Germany or Holland somewhere) in about 4 days.

Also look out for Hankooks which Ford fit as standard to their smaller cars. A bit cheaper than Goodyear if it's just price you're basing your purchase on.

hifly isn't stored in my memory as a never use tyre like nangkang or stomil

I totally don't have two Nangkangs up front on the GP

To be honest they aren't amazing but I've never had any actual issue with them. The GP stops like its hit a brick wall with them still. No wheel spin or understeer and I've been using them for the last 4 months.

I keep saying it but no-one seems to listen.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK EASY FUNDRAISING WHEN ORDERING ONLINE!

Thank you and sorry for shouting. There may be more but I already know that Blackcircles, Tyreshopper, and Mytyres are giving donations via this link, up to 3.5%. If they are the same price as other suppliers, give Pinky a donation!!

Thank you for your attention (y)

Only thing between you and the road......I would pay a bit extra for something better..... As I've said before you can spend £30 on a takeaway. Put that towards your tyres.

Couldn't agree more (y)

Having said that I currently have Barum Brillantis tyres on a 127 and the Strada. They were at the recommendation of my trusted tyre place locally (been going there 25 years, and they still have the same family members there!).

Anyway Barum are Continental's budget brand and seem very impressive. I couldn't get Viking's at the time which are excellent if you can find them.

Barum have very good test results and very good customer feedback. I only checked one of Pinky's links and they were less than £34 each delivered - waaayyyy better than no names at £20 IMO, but it's your rear end on the greasy roundabout John!!! (y)

Thanks for putting the thought of me sliding out of control on a roundabout into my head Gavin!

I hadn't forgot about Pinky, my PC automatically tells me if it's a donation site (when you go to your link it asks you to download it), doesn't work on the tablet though.

I usually go the mid price point for tyres, what I was trying to ascertain was whether there was any bargain star performers. Fizzle came with a pair of recently fitted no names and I've no quibbles with the performance. If I could find them online I'd have another pair for the back.

I think some really useful information is coming out here, thanks guys (y)
