Hello, I own a 89 Tipo 1.6 DGT. I was planning to bolt the rear discs off a Lancia Delta which I had lying around. But after taking off the rear wheel I have just found out that Fiat had completely redesigned the whole hub assembley of their eighties cars.
I now plan on making a mount for the caliper out of steel and the disc should bolt to the existing hub no problems.
I tried unbolting the hub so I can get the drum brakes off and do the necessary measurements but I can't get the thing off. I am using a 32mm socket on the back of the stub axle as opposed to using a mother of a large allen key on the other side. No matter how big the power bar the nut doesn't move. I thought their might be a chance that it is welded to the suspention arm, would I have better luck buying the allen key and trying from that side, or does the nut have to be removed before the allen bolt can turn?

In answer to my own question, I took the car to a mechanic. His solution, was a power bar with a two meter pole extention. After he bent his first power bar, he tried again with a better one which finally did the job.

With reguards to the brakes, the mounting points for the brakes were fairly similar to the Lancias. The rear discs are on with the exception of the handbrake cable which will have to be custom made.
