good afternoon all

I've joined this group to try and help fix a vehicle for a friend
She has a 500x 2016
There is a fail with the rear fog light
The bulb holder was very corroded
And did not work
I have cleaned all the corrosion but there isn't a 12v supply present
I understand there isn't any fuse protection for this cuircit

Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Well fist thing to do is check the switch with a mutimeter to ensure it works.
There will be a fuse somewhere I am sure. Ive never known an unprotected item!
Change the bulb even if it appears OK.
I have a towing relay that can prevent the RFL working. It seems to take a while for the RFL to come back after being plugged in. Has the car ever had a towbar.

Hi
I have checked the plug with a tester and there is no supply
The switch illuminates and there is a warning in the dash to check the fog light
The car has never had a tow bar
Thanks

Known faults are well documented on here
Arcing out of the contacts in the socket/plug to rear lamp are common, mostly on pre 2018 500X and Renegade.
The results of this acing, caused generally by the terminals becoming slack, can be further slackening, melted plastic in both plug and socket. The bulb sockets and ‘electrical tracking’ within the lamp unit can also be affected.
