They seem to either burn out or just seize, I took one apart but there was nothing to repair, bought a second hand one from a seicento from the scrap yard €25 and it's working fine, doesn't help that my cinq s has no temp gauge, so you don't know you are in trouble until something goes bang

It could be the replacement thermostat or wiring is damaged. Before spending money put 12v power direct to fan wiring connectors and see if it fires up. Take it from there......
I had a similar fault where the fan motor had like tight spot in it and if the car needed a fan it would not run if it had been at the tight spot, was basically fooked. You could test it all you want but when needed you couldn't depend on it to work
Took it to bits and no obvious damage
