Technical Question about glow plug light

Hi everybody!
I have just purchased a 2008 Strada Adventure with the 1.3 Multijet diesel.
After starting the car the glow plug light flashed slowly 4 times. I measued the glow plugs and found that 3 of 4 were faulty. I have now replaced all 4 with new ones (grateful of how simple that was on this little engine). When I started the car again afterwards the glow plug light instead flashes rapidly 30 times... Not at all what I was expecting. I have measured all the new glow plugs and the cables up to the control module and everything seems fine.

Do anyone have an idea of what ca cause this? It seems like the glow plug light can give different codes, but I have'nt found a translation of "number of flashes to an error" somewhere on the web.

Ideally you need the error code to be read via the EOBD port, it may just be a case of deleting the error codes now you have replaced the heater plugs. A garage can do this , but many on Forum have found it worthwhile to buy the MES software and the correct leads to plug into EOBD port as often cheaper to purchase than one code read at some garages

I saw a tip in another thread to lift the negative battery pole and leave off over the night to let the ECU restart, and it worked! Now I have no flashing heater plug light.

Lucky, I have never found that to work on later vehicles.
