Hi everyone. Its time to service my Qubo. Engine information seems very limited. Does anybody know where I can get a service manual?

HI RubikCube

Some kind person posted me a link to an on-line manual when I last worked on mine.

Depends what you are planning to do. Fluid and filter changes are quite straightforward, but valve clearance check (surprisingly they are NOT self adjusting hydraulic) can get quite involved largely because of the need to remove the cam box cover and reset the cam position sensor position which requires a special alignment tool. Thankfully these are reaonably easily available and not too expensive.

If the valve clearances are out of tolerance you will need to remove the shims. Thankfully, they sit on top of the buckets so it shouldn't be too difficult to remove / replace them providing you have the right tools to compress the springs, flick out the shims, and measure their thickness. Mine was a head gasket failure so it was a head off & strip job anyway so there was no need to remove the shims 'in situ'. At 60,000 Miles mine were still nicely within tolerance if that's any comfort to you.

Great care needed if you are replacing the cambelt. Use the correct locking tools to lock (1) the crankshaft, (2) the camshaft in the head and (3) the VVC pulley relative to the cam. With these precautions you should be able to avoid making the mistakes I did that a good few very knowledgeable guys on here helped me resolve.

Good hunting

Thnaks Pete. Very useful. I have since ordered a used copy of a service manual from fleabay. Its the Haynes book of jokes "fiat grande punto, punto evo and punto 2006 to 2015" which should contain the info on my engine. Fingers crossed.
