I have dropped the original engine from my 1970 Lusso in readiness for a 650.
I decided the rear could do with a proper clean up, dirt, grime fifty years of general road mess had made it not a pleasant place for a new engine and gearbox.
I'm cleaning it up to paint which is going OK as long as my back and knees hold out !
There is ' body putty ' between some panels that is ingrained with dirt and would ruin the finish.
Is it safe to remove and leave off or should it be replaced once paint is finished?
Is it there just to stop noise between panels?
If it's replaced what is it's correct name and where can it be purchased?
Many thanks
David
