Hello, as the title says, my car loses power at higher speeds. We changed the spark plugs and cables, but the same thing.
Do you have any idea what could be the cause, the mechanic was not very helpful, he claims that the computer (new is €2000) has gone.

Switch to another "mechanic". This one is probably lame, incompetent.
Like most "professionals". They can't fix a simple Fiats with FIRE family engines.
If it's really ECU failure and you live in Europe = this is not a "problem".
You have ECU repair shops in all european countries.
Also eBay and local websites like that, plenty of used ECUs (+ "immo off" / "virgin").

if all he changed was the leads and plugs and now he is all out of ideas then I suggest you try another mechanic.

Generally you want to know what if any error messages are recorded, what the symptoms are and what are the conditions causing the fault, then you can start to piece together the probable cause of the issue.

Feel free to post up as much as you know and we can try and help but the most helpful thing will be knowing the errors recorded on the ECU.

One point to note, if the car is misfiring, then generally on fiats the engine warning light will flash during the misfire.
