Technical punto clutch

took this clutch off a mk2 punto yesterday is it still good?

Theres still plenty miles left on that,

was it slipping?

The friction plate looks okay to me
The Pressure Plate needs a quick clean
The Diaphram fingers look a little worn, but looks vs feel win here, feel if the groove is deap or not

The other question is - whats the clutch release bearing like?

Brake and clutch cleaner the whole lot before refitting Less messy fingers too!

Replaces with LUK kit,

i sold the transmission and got left with the clutch and flywheel, there is a 2010 date stamped on the clutch, how long do they usually last

this fits to a mk1?

depends on driver realy, was car owned by alearner etc,?

My sister n law and her high heel's can see a new plate off in less than 6mths,

Hard to tell from this distance but the release finfers look worn and this is usuall where the trouble comes from. I reckon half the replacements are for this rather than friction plate wear. Our original clutch went at 42k and we're now at 107k with the replacement - can't remember the make. If in any doubt about the wear on the fingers I would bin it unless you like spannering

iwouidnt like to know mate, reminds me, R.i.p Lou reed,

but she burns plate's out with these high heels on trust me,
ihad to strip box out of punto iloaned her for 30mins,

it may appear mk2 and mk1 punto uses the same clutch

ive never got in a car with her so iwouidnt know,
iwouidnt feel safe and im ex banger racer,

Given the work to swap out a clutch, a just bin it. Replace with a new clutch kit (inc the thrust bearing).

If you do decide to refit, fit a new thrust bearing anyway.

my thoughts , dont fanny about while you have it in bits fit a new LUK, after years of fitting boxes and clutches to fiats, the only ones that have ever worked first time are LUK ones, and never fit one from another car they dont mate properly when partially worn, and will judder like mad
