my idea 1.4 petrol dulalogic pas went a couple of weeks ago - the faliure messages -hill start,esp and steering were displayed.Main problem was no power steering.Fiat dealer said a new pas motor was needed which was more than the car is worth!
However got a second-hand pas motor and asociated parts on ebay (same year and model) and had the dealer fit it -however only the power steering returned -hill start and esp still arestill failing and an error code " C1117 Steering angle sensor (NGE)
resent " comes up and the engineer said he could not delete it !!
Seller on ebay is saying the part was in full working order and that the code is something to do with the gearbox not communicating properly with the PAS motor and that the dealer has fitted the part incorrectly !
Who is right and can it be fixed and do i have a valid claim with the seller for selling me a "not in full working order" part ?
Please Please help, this car is a money pit and though i cannot afford to replace it, it will be cheaper to scrap than continue to throw good money after bad.
