After some advice !
This is my daughters car firstly so i cannot say if she has had an intermittent issue previously but she advises no.
It is a 2010 1.3D ]
Error code U170287 - EPS - Electrical power steering - node on C Can
I am struggling to see this code anywhere apart from one mention on here which the thread still remains inconclusive.
I have read through all the posts regarding failures and watched too may you tube videos! The steering light is permanently lit and comes on as soon as the key is turned and the engine started, i have ruled out the battery and 70A fuse as the battery has been tested and is less than a month old. The fuse tested correct when removed with no corrosion present.
I removed the battery tray and associated assemblies and removed the earth strap from the chassis to the top of the gearbox, i removed any corrosion and the sleeve and this was in a good state, other feeds advised this could be the cause owing to the amount of current drawn by the motor but i had my doubts.
Before i go and remove the steering column and get it refurbed or replace does anyone have any other ideas? i am yet to check the rack and motor, it has just starting raining again in Devon and do not fancy getting soaked
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
