Hi,
It's been a long time since I've had the time to post here...apologies.
Our cars have simply been keeping on keeping on! But things are now changing; so I thought that it was time to re-connect with you and update.
I've not really had anything to post on the site as the cars have just kept on going.
However, 'Freaks' last MOT was over £700 and that stopped me in my tracks ! I've been too busy earning the cash to watch where it was going. If I had been focused enough, the MOT would have cost £100 ... and I could have spent some time in the garden !!
So, time to call in some favours:-
'Dog-Car' first.
Take it off the road and SORN it. Transport to HGV-building company and rise into the air.
S*IT !
No chassis !
Whilst son-in-law builds new chassis, I cast my eye around the huge aircraft-hanger of a building. I'm here for the next 8 hours ... how can I amuse myself ?
My eye falls upon a new Plasma Cutter, panel bender, air riviter and stack of ally chequer-plate ! ... heaven !
So, using the Dog-Car as a template, I made two sets of door bottoms, front and rear panels to match, sump-guards and sill covers. Wonderful !
I was already having a new exhaust made for the 'Dog':- standard front pipe, mid-section Fiat 127 muffler, fabricated pipe and rear-box ... 15" s/s outlet straight-through, with twin 3" uplift outlet pipes. Coupled to the roof-inlet for the K&N filtered Carb ... this was all looking good.
As the car was off the road anyway, and it is used mainly for towing and carrying, we thought "What the hell". So I've built a raised roof storage-section where the rear sunroof was and am currently making it's top into a roof-rack; to compliment the Seat Terra wind deflector, already fitted. This could take some time !
As for the 'FREAK': after it's rediculously expensive MOT, I took a damn good look at it.
I Love the Beast !
So, I'm fitting the spare body-kit that i made to it, diverting the K&N intake to the roof, replacing the roof-lights with a vintage Pajero set of four, reinforcing the sump-guard and ............
I will post pictures as and when ... but I'm a bit busy at the moment.
I haven't forgotten you all. This is still the best Fiat Panda site in the net.
All the best.
