Dont you think that panda's are becoming a LOT harder to find? And ALSO on the rise in price?
I remember when I could find a panda or two in the classifieds of my local paper each week, for £100 ono lol
but now, they all go well above £300 (which at the moment, I can NOT afford) and they're NOWHERE near me... for example, The closes panda to me on ebay at current is 55 miles... the rest are over 100...
Grrr... all I'm after is a restoration project, a cheap panda around £100-200 that runs, with tax and MOT, or some method of transport to get it here.
I'm not too bothered about anything else.

[/Rant] lol

me and my wife just paid £250 for our panda, which has 11 months MOT and 5 months tax left on it. It was a bargain considering theres no major rust anywhere, the rust had been done on the bottom of the doors for the last MOT. the underside of the car has been undersealed, and im pretty sure its been waxoiled aswell. The enigne is perfect and runs brilliantly. We thought it was very cheap considering the condition.

Back in Sept 2000 dad paid £200 for the 750L from a friend. It had only 37000 on the clock at the time (112900 currently) and was MOTed and Taxed, and my best buy by far was my current Selecta back in August last year (07)), £350, years MOT, and only 15500 on the clock (22100 currently).

Dad also paid £80 for his 1000CL but that needed alot of work done to it, he's spent about £700-£800 so far and the doors are still rotten, a job to look forward to in the summer!

Paid £400 for mandapanda last year. 42k on clock, 2 owners and stack of history from 88 year old ex-rally driver (really, I kid you not). Only additions alloy wheels.

Hope a Panda finds you soon, or that you find one locally.

I sold my old 750 for £250 though a small ad in the local paper, with 4/5 months MOT and tax, in need of a service and a bit temperamental about cold starting. The bloke seemed happy enough with it for the money.

I think for that kind of price people who are looking for a cheap runabout will buy anything with a few month's legality on it, regardless of what the car is. Being as Pandas are mostly in the bargain basement category these days, they won't hang around in the classifieds.

And unfortunately, it makes it more likely the few remaining ones will be bought by uncaring owners and run into the ground. :(

Cheers,

Plug
