Took my Panda out yesterday (on private land of course) to see what top speed it would do as i have fitted the cinq sporting engine to it, i was quite suprised when it reached 100mph and was still creeping up!

Impressive although assuming you're running standard wheels that'll be more like 90mph on GPS

Dont do it... Panda isnt a speed merchant, its a cutesy, cheeky li'l mol!

Yep my ex-partner and I regularly tonned up (on the clock, anyway) our little Panda Colour on the M20! Oops! She really flew.

Yup got 98mph (indicated) out of my 750cc (with 5 speed box) yesterday going down a slope on the M3.

Seems a lot more nippy now the new points are fitted and setup.

i think you may need a new thermostat if yours runs at 70°C at 100mph, mine was running at 100°C at that speed.

I think its your Panda that may need looking at. The rad sould be very efficient at that speed. Mine runs at 70/75 and never goes above 90.

I assume you had both hands on the wheel at 100MPH and didn't have a camera in one, lol.

Thats what my GPS (both sat nav, and speed cam locator (needed at that speed lol)) read out at 100MPH. I've found out that most (all of our 3) panda's over read by 10% which isn't dissimilar to other cars.

But if they over read on speed does this mean they clock up over 10% more miles than traveled?!? If so it means my 750L has done only 101610 miles and not 112900 as its reading - opps!

And I don't know how u got that speed. LOL. Only managed 85MPH outa our 750L (4 Speed), but at time did think I could get more but didn't have the heart!

Mine runs at 100C at that sort of speed, but put it down to the fact its and auto with hydraulics to run etc, the other two panda's run at about 70-80C.

The 750cc should run at 87°C according to Fiat.
Mine always stays between 85°C and 90°C during any normal driving conditions. (I'm also running a genuine brand new Fiat thermostat (also stamped with 87°C))
My fan switches on in traffic at 92-93°C.
During very high speed runs or extended periods of hill climbing I have seen the temp touch as high as 100°C.
70°C is too cool for any petrol engine.

My old panda 1000S used to do an indicated 100 on the flat... drove it flat out for 2 years with a commute of 45 miles each way down the A45 (as it was) always got 40+ mpg too.. did all my own servicing and set up (garage couldnt ge the timing right:bang:)

the Cinq Sporting was quicker acceleration though... and better handling and better brakes....

Oh.. had the needle down over the "H" in MPH once... off the top of "Slack hill" in Derbyshire......
