Hi ppl
Does anyone know if the Panda Springs are the same as the Lancia Y10? they have the exactaly same suspension system... macpherson and omega axle...
Can anyone know their fiat references?
Thanks :D

Went to Fiat dealer today to look at computer. There are five different part numbers for Panda front springs and five for rear springs. The computer indicates where a part is used on more than one vehicle ( including Fiat to Lancia ) but it does not show that any of these are compatible to the Y10.
Please let me know if you find out if the springs are the same ones or not.

im assuming you have some kind of friendship/business relationship with the fiat dealer otherwise they'd think you were mad just strolling in!

Thanks Pete... :)
I thought that it could be the same springs...
I will investigate better.... but you helped me a lot :D
If i find more i will put it here

You may find the springs are a bit shorter, and or stiffer (but I might be wrong).

The Y10 was the "go faster, upmarket spec" Panda, and the floorpan is the same.

I put some rear shocks off a Y10 on mine - the are quite stiff.
They were Gabriel red riders.

Later this summer when my younger daughter has learnt to drive in it we may play with more Y10 parts (including gearbox).

Hi there again... i now have the specs of the y10 springs..
does anyone have the same spring specs of panda for a comparison?

Here are the y10 springs and shocks specs.

height under load (mm/da.N) 196/218 and 236
yellow reference (mm/da.N) 196/227
green reference (mm/da.N) 196/227

shock absorbers Boge or Way
Course (mm) 155,5

Thanks :D

Hi there,

There are differences, I fitted new front shocks to my Y10 a few years ago and at the time I found out that they were different. More expensive too.

Engine wise Y10's have the same 999CC FIRE engine as some of the later Pandas - and better seats!:)

Hope that helps, I don't have a parts CD handy but try the forum at www.y10turbo.co.uk for help.

This is not for change with original parts... as you know for y10 there are no "tuning" parts, as for this case springs, i want to know if the fiting of "a good quality" low springs for a panda in a y10 could be a problem.
(sorry for bad english)

Surely no probs, but you'll need new bushes for the front shocks (and rear too;))...of course I suppose you've already bought stiffer shocks, atleast 30% more than the stock ones!If you don't provide those modifications I think your Y10 will show a nice "kangaroo" driving:D!

Passion has neither brands nor models!

The cart spring rear is Mk1 (original 1981 to 1986??) Panda, and continued on the SEAT (Ibiza??).

The Y10 rear was where the "Omega" rear axle came from on the later Pandas (1987?? - 2003) - it's the same.

Can't argue spring specifications, unfortunately:(

Rear springs are identical lenght but the Y10 is stiffer, the front are longer on the Panda for some reason but only by 1cm or so(i comfirmed this by measuring;front-31cm, back-26cm). I have two sets of shocks out of the car for my attempt at lowering it a bit.:D

well now i have some lowering springs made for y10 with koni shocks.
But thanks for the replys :)
The springs are for cobra www.cobra-suspension.com and they are very nice

I posted in case someone actually searches and will find the info. Like anyone ever searches, i went through all the posts one at a time. I think search is broken or useless
