There are two "Omega" rear axles fitted on the Pandas, one is 7666760 and the other 7579008.

Has anyone established what is the difference between the two and if they are interchangeable please ??

Thank you, Pete.

Short answer is no.

Guess is difference associated with improved brakes on Selecta, and later models with a servo... But it's only a guess.

FWIW I understand the axle is interchangeable between the Y10 and the Panda - but that undoes the guess :(

Sorry

Hello John. Thanks for your reply.

I have three Pandas (F, K and L) all with the 7666760. Today, I looked at an F reg 1000CL, when I checked it had a 7579008. Visually I see no difference but would welcome further clarification.

I have seen this question mentioned on one of the forums but I cannot remember which or what the details were.

Thanks again, Pete.

Hello Pete.

Where on the axle is the ident number - or how can you tell them apart??

We have two - ( H and K ) - may be persuaded to look, if it's not too difficult to get at B)

Regards

John

Hello John.
I have yet to find a number stamped on the unit (under all that rust and road dirt) so I cannot tell you where to look. I am going by the dealers computer records. I know a chap who has a 7666760 is his garage so I will e-mail him and ask him to have a look.

Whilst on the question, the dealers computer confirms that the 7666760 is used on the Lancia Y10 but the 7579008 is not.

Thanks again for the input.
Rgds, Pete.
