General Panda Injectors Light / Rev Problems - Please HELP

Just a little up-date as far as injector warning light goes. Was in Asda this evening and in the car section found some injector cleaner for £4 to add when filling up with fuel, so added it and filled up and shall see if it makes any improvement on the situation (I doubt it will but for £4 what can I expect).

worth a try, still think ecu need's to checked still think its a sensor. Do you have any guys in your area that will do a home call that can check your engine elec's sensor etc might be worth a ring round. They should have some idea what to look at with their onboard computer and kit, give it a go(y)

Jim is right - replace the lambda sensor.
Been there. done that. fixed it - warning light out at all speeds.

You can get a "generic" sensor for less than 40UKP, but you'll need to put your old connector on the cable. Difficult. The inner of the cable you're joining is stainless steel and doesn't solder - chocolate block connector and a lot of heat shrink tubing works.

Regarding the earlier post about injected Pandas with distributors - there are some, from early 1993 with Bosch injection, which have a distributor (electronic, with no points).
They have the catalyser in the downpipe. Prohibitively expensive to replace.

use a good tool so you don't slip damage the rad or your self:eek:

Thanks for the advice! Sort of thing I'd normally do. LOL. Still got the war wounds i'll take to my grave on my wrist of when my hand slipped when trying to remove front passenger hub bearing off of the donor 750L, to say it was a bas^$rd was an understatement! lol.

Looks like I might be looking at getting a new lambda sensor then. Fair easy to remove and re-fit I take? Just thread in and out?!?

Yes to just thread in and out.

I've only changed one, and it was _unbelievably_ tight.

As I was a cheapskate and got the "generic" sensor with no connector on the end, I cut the original lead quite close to the old sensor. The size of the "nut" is the same as big "old school" spark plugs, and I used that socket out of an ancient socket set. (anyone here remember N9Y's ?)

It needed a big extension bar, which I started to jack to the front of the Panda up with (to preload the thread), then sat quickly on the front of the Panda.... it came undone with a click.

Then it was just a matter of (heat sleeving up the cables) and joining then tidying the wiring up.

I'm sure there are more elegant methods, and there are people on the Cento/Sei part of the forum who recommend Bosch, or similar branded quality sensors as the guaranteed fix.
