How did you fit the rear spoiler, is it bonded to the glass?

I have got hold of a spoiler from a 100HP and I was looking to cut off the bolts and bond it. As I understand it, the 100HP rear glass has mounting holes.

He states "- Rear spoiler from Panda Sporting (not from Panda 100HP)"

100HP rear door glass is drilled for the spoiler. It has a darker tint than other models so you would need the full set with rear passenger doors.

I read that, hence why I was curious how he bonded it to the glass... 👍
If there still made there was a simpler solution

Do you have a sporting spoiler already, they were exceptional rare, I've just done a quick Google search and couldn't find any

Please can you show the intercooler pipes and the cooler itself. I have been looking to do something similar but don't want to buy a cooler that wont fit.
They've not logged in, in the last 8 years so unlikely to respond

Their account doesn't appear to be on the site any more so you can't PM them

I have 4! (Well, myself and some family members).
But they're all attached to Sportings already.
Supposedly there were originally 200 Red and 200 Black, and the body kit was available as a Dealer option in some markets.
They're not as rare as DVLA says, though.
All but one of ours are registered as Dynamic Multijet, not Sporting.
Apparently dealers (Arnold Clark for all 3) couldn't be bothered to register them properly.
They still come up on eBay and Gumtree occasionally.
There's a couple being broken which may still have the spoiler. It's only attached with double-sided tape, so sellers may be willing to sell separately.
If you are trying to '"dress up" a Panda, the Sporting front & rear bumper extensions and side skirts do look pretty good in a subtle kind of way.

Alternatively, I have seen a couple of 100hp tailgates with glass on eBay recently, for about £80. Add 100hp rear door window glasses, and a bit of tint film on the rear wing windows for a gentle visual tweak?

Great info

I only did a quick search for sporting and didn't find any

Sounds like a great option as OEM parts are generally better quality

No, I have got hold of an 100HP one, I was hoping just to remove the ends of it's fixing bolts and then bond it to the glass.

I wanted an OEM spoiler.

The original poster used a different OEM spoiler that was originally stuck on

I don't know of anyone who's fitted the 100HP to a none 100HP tailgate so I suspect you on your own, if you go down that route

There's not a lot of surface area in contact,

I guess fiat went the harder route of a drilled glass hatch for a reason, after all the use double sided tape on lots of other body trims

Pretty much anything is possible, but it does not look straightforward

I've seen 2 or 3 100HPs with no rear spoiler. Presumably they've had replacement glass or tailgate from another model. If glue or tape worked i reckon they would have done it.

I've heard rumours that the drilled 100HP glass is special order only now, and not held in stock by the usual suspects - not sure how accurate that is, but I think I will hold on to the spare bent 100HP tailgate I've got in the hope I can get the glass out in one piece if I ever need one. They just look wrong without the spoiler.

The current plan (and is just an idea at this stage), is to cut off the bolts , fill the circular bolt voids and the larger trapezoidal voids with epoxy (or similar), so that it is proud of the surface and grind/sand back to the same profile as the spoiler.

I also assumed that the area with the foam attached in the photo would also bond to the glass?

I will remove the foam when I repaint the spoiler, this should provide a decent contact patch for the bonding agent.

Again, not decided what to use, windscreen adhesive? Or any other suggestions? Sikaflex 221 or something like that?

you need to know what it's made from, nylon and polyester will cause problems finding something that will last long term

You could try small spot first, rough up an area inside the void and put one drop of what ever you are going to use, let it dry, try and knock it off with a hammer and chisel, if it comes off in one piece it's not going to work very well

The glass has to be clean and free of any residue, once cleaned I suggest washing again in biological washing powder, and rubbing the area with pure talc

Then the area that's going to be bonded to will need priming with something like Sika Primer-206 G+P

Then bonding with something like Sikaflex polyurethane adhesive

And then held in the correct position for at least 24 hours
