Technical P0335 code

A follow up to my question about ecm location had the code P0335 engine code come up which is crank position sensor A circuit .Replaced the crank sensor to no avail then checked the wiring to and from the sensor checked all fuses, relays, connectors ,even cleaned all the body and chassis earths again to no avail engine still surging and lacking power.Changed the fuel filter blew all the hoses to and from the tank made sure all fuel lines were tight changed the rail sensor still nothing vehicle would idle but not rev beyond 1500 rpm without it surging and tripping off the same old P0335 code . Now logic would say id missed something but i trust my work so i went and wiggled the injector harness more out of desperation than anything else and the engine stalled at idle, turns out no.4 injector had a wire broken underneath the insulation that was sometimes conecting sometimes not causing the engine to surge making the crank (rpm) sensor read erratically causing the code to appear only took me a day and a half to work it out 250km later im home and its going better than ever pays to look outside the square at times Cheers Adam

Nice find. That was a very common problem on the old model the loom was too short, not surprising you have cracked wire though with the torture yours get put through.
