Technical Ok so got reconditioned gearbox and found thid.

Ok I'm not pro but I recently got reconditioned gearbox paid 800 quid now about 2 months later my clutch gave in went straight to floor, managed to get home flipped the bonnet , straight away I could see the cable had popped out at gearbox it looked Ok, and it clicked back in, but I noticed something around the ne Ok, on closer inspection ..
I found a zip tie on it securing it as it obviously wasn't secure, now surely if it was already there something would have been said, I don't remember ever seeing that, it looks new, is it just me or is this bad?

I think I would start documenting everything about this and getting photographs as this does NOT look good. That box may or may not be reconditioned, but from the poor cleaning it sets all my alarm bells ringing. The cable tie says even more. I would get an independent garage to give you an opinion and consider an RAC or AA inspection.
