Nut splitter?

I've just come across a nut splitter for the first time. Are they any good?

I had a pair from Machine Mart about 20 years ago, and I remember that they seemed to work well enough back then
More recently I used a brand new one when helping out a family member on an 80s Ford, and the point gave way before the nut did.
Had to resort to an angle grinder, so... mixed results for me.

Mmmm. I can see that. Maybe they'd be good when an angle grinder can't reach.

TBH on that particular 80s Ford, the angle grinder would reach most places underneath, as there was so little floor in the way.
Fred Flintstone would have been right at home.
