Technical Noisy Radio on Punto2

Hi all.

My bog standard Punto Mk2 radio has suddenly started making a disgusting high pitched whistling noise when the engine is running.......perfect when I switch off, so even I can work out that something on the car is interfering eh?

Thing is...yeah.....exactly WHAT is my next question Answers PLEASE.....I can't live without it, but can't live with that noise either. I don't mind paying to have it fixed but only if it isn't something simple that I can't do myself........Thanks guys....

I dont know about a noisy radio, but my Mk2 radio cassette loses channels very easily. I have replaced the amplified antenna and even tried another unit from a mate, but it still does not hold the channels very well. I have to be very close to a transmitter to keep the channel. Is this just my problem or is it general? I am going to try a different head unit and see if it receives the signal better.|)
