Tuning Noisy compared to others

My Multipla JTD (54) is very noisy compared to our neighbours JTD (04) both with similar mileage.

Any suggestions as to why or how I can quieten the engine?

Any suggestions as to why or how I can quieten the engine?

Do both vehicles have the same engine cover on and the same level of underbonnet sound deadening (if any) fitted?

The earlier 04' Multipla should have a plastic tray under the engine, this was removed on 54 plates onwards. The tray makes them much quieter!

I took my undertray off and left it off cos it was a pain in the bum when changing the oil.

Can't say I've noticed any increase in noise though...
