Technical Noisy Cabin (2020 Twin Air Cross 4x4) tyre choice maybe?

Well! I have been absent from here a long time, life seems to have intervened. I still have the 4x4 Panda, it's still effing noisy, I pre-warn passengers ahead of journeys and it has some incredibly irritating crap, one day I will write a review. The latest irritation is the tyre pressure warning light, OK so I never checked the tyres from purchase in January till this week. I was going to Wales to play golf yesterday and checked the tyres over the weekend. On the way I noticed that warning light on the dash, leaving out visit to service area it appears to have come on because I added air, and cancelling is a nightmare of pushing strangely marked items, why do they do that? I mean WTF is the "ignition device"? Spark plug, matches? ...with the ignition device set at MAR, MAR? It's probably explained somewhere in the 200 pages...

I did discover that noisy though it is small stretches of road can make it sound as quiet as a Rolls Royce, in fact the M48 between Chepstow and Newport is an entire stretch of peace and tranquility. Probably changing tyres would really help but I'm too mean to squander good money on the off chance of success.

I will also return to thank the man who met me to discuss it in Ross, the only bit of road near where we met was one of those silent ones...

BTW some elements of this post may be read as tongue in cheek and not to be assumed to be literal.

To quantify my reply above, my 2018 handbook states that the two wheel drive TwinAir Panda weighs 980kg, the 4x4 version 1090kg (the equivalent of carrying a couple of slim people as passengers). My diesel 4x4 is shown as 1125kg (and owing to the greater car weight, is allowed to tow 100kg more in a trailer too)
or half a Panda Nut

I added 3M secondary door seals and this has made things quieter. I want to add some extra sound proofing but life keeps getting in the way. Tyre noise is an issue and its really down to the cheap construction and its design age. Small price to pay when overall VFM is considered in my opinion. There is absolutely nothing out there I would swap my TA for.

Herts Highways decided to resurface the a505 with large rocks, rather than small chippings a while back, leaving an almost cobbled road surface. That in my 4x4 Panda produces a horrid noise with body panels booming all over the car and tyre noise ( from Mich CrossClimates) that would shake fillings loose. But on other nice new tarmac it’s near silent (at least, as silent as a diesel 4x4 Panda can be :) )
Tyre Pressure system has no idea what the actual pressures are (no pressure sensors in the system), it only monitors the wheel speeds (using ABS sensors). The pressures have to be way off (too low or too high) compared to previous journeys for it to warn you. Best to check manually at least once a month, and definitely as soon as weather cools or warms suddenly (the pressure will drop a lot during a cold snap). But after re inflating more than a few PSI the system does need to be reset.
There’s an older thread that has the definitive instructions for resetting the system (the handbook is hopeless!) - see here then follow the links
