Hello all!

I seem to have an issue with pump not kicking in,

The relay seems to work, but doesn’t at the same time, you hear the click and when I removed the outer over you can see the relay make contact but it does not engage the pump?

I ran a wire from the relay pin to the battery and the pump works fine, pressures the rail and the car runs perfectly

Any ideas where to start before I jump in double footed

So by powering up the relay feed to the pump in the tank directly from the battery it works fine.
Does the same happen if you use / bridge from the live side of the relay socket? So basically you are bypassing the trigger side of the relay.
The reason I ask is some years ago on a 06 Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Multi Jet I had a similar issue but on that model it also prevented the starter from activating. The cause, I traced to a rotted wire at the ECU plug on the O/S inner wing.
You may be able to check this by measuring voltage across the two trigger contacts in relay socket in fuse box when turning ignition on and off. Note, not the main power in and out to operate the pump, just the supply activating the solenoid contacts inside the relay if it was fitted back in socket.
I assume you tried a different relay?
You can also check for any corrosion inside or under fusebox.:)
