Hi there.
welcome to the mad house nd all that :D
Just a little note about your parcel shelf, I've got an MDF one at the mo and am looking for a standard one instead, cos although it was a good idea at the time (covered it in black leather), its bulky to lift :(

Ive got an MDF one in my Cinq- which I have just attached strings to and pivots, so it lifts up. Its so damn heavy the tailgate won't lift it on its own, you have to lift it yourself! :D

I'd always recommend a MDF shelf for 6 x 9 's. It makes the bass more prominent- the fibrous material of the original shelf muffles it quite a lot at high volumes!!:D:D

Arse

Ill think of something witty....just wait and see............wait I might not.

MDF shelves cost £££££££££££ if you buy one ready-made! Much better to make your own: buy some MDF, use your standard shelf as a template to mark the shape, cut it out with a jigsaw, make some holes for speakers and cover it with acoustic cloth. Sounds much better than standard crap and won't bend/break with the weight of the speakers.
Also, mount your speakers on the underside of the shelf so that no theiving scum can see them under the cloth (but you can still hear them). I didn't do this and some complete b*****d nicked my homemade shelf complete with JBL 6x9s!
