Has anybody actually seen the new panda on UK roads yet? are they for sale here, because i haven't seen one. Eveytime l think lve seen one, it's turned out to be a suzuki something or other. Are they not selling very well here?

it jus keeps on goin!

ive seen one it was puke green looked horible, seen black ones at dealers they look cool. i think a lot of people have ordered them but supply isn't meeting demand.

I got mine last tuesday and have seen two on the road since. They have been slow arriving here, mine took 11 weeks and my dealer has delivered 40 so far so they should be out in force soon!

2004 Panda Eleganza.... nice!

Not seen one yet but only do about 15 miles a day. The advertising has been awful!

Ordered mine 10 weeks ago in yellow and LHD as im taking it to Italy with me this summer (where i'm moving to), i'm still waiting. The dealer hasn't got a clue when its arriving just that they have started to build it! Dont think much of the selection of colours on offer, and as for that puke green.........!
Yes the advertising was awful. Even the Fiat customer service line couldn't give me prices etc 1 month before the launch here in the UK.

I thought the advertising was good. Everywhere you go on London Underground or buses theres big pictures advertising this new panda. even my local east end rag has them advertised but ive still yet to see one in the "flesh"

it jus keeps on goin!

now seen four this week, 2 red, one green, one blue, there all arriving now! Mine took four weeks to get to the built stage, then seven to be delivered. So it looks like a long wait yet. Apparently Fiat underestimated demand for the Eleganza and only made 13% of Pandas in that trim. Then Fiat here offered 0% finance and the orders flooded in!!! Bad planning on their part:)

I really should explain why i think the advertising was bad then:

1) seen one advert for them on a bus stop sign.
2) If they are advertising in London this is off the mark:

London is the only place with acceptable and improving PT.
London is one of the few places in which most can either easily afford a much nicer car or not afford a car at all.
Londonners are constantly being pushed away from motorcars.

The question must be asked, why advertising at bus stops, the majority of people who take buses aren't going to be interested.

Maybe Fiat don't want to succeed in Nottingham at least!

Paul, that last statement has to be one of the most crass Ive ever seen. How do you come to the conclusion that Londoners could afford nicer cars or none at all?![?] Its only the few in the City that earn the big cash and most of them commute from way outside London, everyone else is like the rest of the UK, incomes vary but the cost of living can be higher. As for improving PT, bull**it! TFL approved massive spending on upgrading the easy to use and fast Routemaster bus, then do a complete U turn and announce their withdrawal in favour of bendy buses which are slow and cumbersome and dont fit in the bus stops, oh yes and they catch fire! The Panda is ideal for Londoners, small and easy to park with good protection bodywise from other cars, also easy to drive... you need to get out more Paul... stop reading books:D

Need to get out more - charming.

I make no apologies in saying it is widely accepted that London has the only decent PT system. If you are a Londonner, try visiting elsewhere if you ever complain and sample out delights, you will soon see what I mean.

If people want a perfect city hoping car the only choice is a bike/smart/moped as per their preference.

I can't find any figures on additional PT spending yet but the initial assumptions were huge.

I am no fan of bendy buses but they have done well in Europe..I don't know why.... other than the accessibility is a lot better.

I should get out more but I still wouldn't see any advertising for the Panda!

I was in cardiffs main shopping centre wednesday morning. Was there just before 9 and in the centre was a new fiat panda along with other products for sale, paintings and purfume. By just after 9 the people selling the purfume and paintings were ther selling thier products but no one from fiat. The car had two chairs in the back and banners with car info so i presume a fiat sales assistant should be comming. The car was attracting a fiar bit of attention from shoppers but they couldnt ask anyone about it. I passed the car again at 10.30 and still no sales assistant. I have only seen one panda around cardiff area, and not much advertising.

Took delivery of mine on the 6th April since then seen one other.

Likes: High driving position, gear lever easy to reach, rear wiper linked to reverse gear selection

Dislike: "girly mode" i.e. city setting for power steering, radio goes off after 20 mins when parked up and engine off.

Well said nouvapanda, I live fairly near London and I go there quite a lot. It's stupid to say that advertising at bus stops is poor because 'people who take the bus aren't going to be interested'. I go to London, I take the bus. Millions of others do the same. This is not because I don't have a car. Every day the population of London trebles when people who don't live there go there for various reasons. Most of them use public transport because it's the best way to get around in the city as cars are impractical. Plus who says people who see adverts at bus stops are taking the bus anyway? I see loads of bus stop adverts driving or walking around where I live, yet I never take the bus.

It's also absolute rubbish to say people in London are either poor or rich - that's just not the case. There is a complete spectrum and if anything more of them will be in the market for a panda than out of the city. It's marketed as a city car for God's sake!, the main market is people who want a car for shorter journeys or a second car. No, people who live in the square mile probably won't want one, but there are millions of people who live in the rest of London and the surrounding area who visit it that might.

As for no advertising anywhere else, well that does seem a little strange, but I have seen adverts in all the towns+cities near me (South Essex).

EDIT: Oops didn't realise this is an old thread, never mind.

Maz - is that good or bad compared with what you expect to sell? :)
