Hello forum,
I replaced my old New Ulysse a week ago with a new, New Ulysse. The new model is a new version and is distinguishable by its smaller key fob and red displays.

My problem is that my Ulysse only speaks French to me. All the menus are in french, radio display, sat nav, telephone, warning messages etc. I don't say "call" to make a phone call but have to say "apeller" etc. In fact, if you trawl through the menus, you find an option (in French) to call the Peugeot Service Centre -- my Fiat thinks it's a Peugeot!!

The solution to my problem of having to keep a French dictionary in my car would be for my Fiat dealer to load version 6.XX of the RT3 (radio/sat nav unit) software. I learned this from the very helpful Eurovan forum www.eurovan2.com/forum. Unfortunately, my dealer only has a disk at version 5.41. Does the UK Version 6.XX software exist yet? Is there anyone out there in the UK with a production copy of it?

Thanks (or should I say, merci beaucoup)

Go to a Peugeot dealer and ask them to change the language, they are more likely to have the disc. I suspect there is no Fiat version available yet, which is why the Peugeot assistance option is there. It is the same with the latest version of 5.5 software.

The dealer should have checked this as part of the PDI, did they do a PDI.

Agreed, perhaps he was french?

Just be thankful that its not a japanese car I suppose lol!

Paul is young and nieve, he will learn :D

@ Bee - welcome to the forum. Isn't there a language setting somewhere within the menus? The Stilo Nav+ has one....

Apparently you need the disc to change the language, the software you need is on the Eurovan forum. You could aks your dealer to burn a copy and chnage it for you, or you could burn a disc and give it to the dealer.

That way the garage can take responsibility if something goes wrong.

Good luck with it, are there any other new things on the new Ulysse.

Ah of course - I have the setup disk for the Stilo, which is needed after every firmware upgrade because it defaults back to Italian...[or is it French :chin:].

The red displays sound interesting - a few pics would be good.

You should have said, my brother is selling his wife's Scenic. I presume it was a Megane Scenic as they were looking at one recently.

Don't talk to me about PDIs....

Our car was ordered with the super visibility pack, including dark tinted windows. When I picked it up, er, normal windows all round - the sales manager tried to convince me they were tinted [so how come I can see right through them  THEN said FIAT have every right to change the spec] - yeah right ;)

So we went back to the order, lo and behold, a wrong code was used even though I had ordered correctly.

The good news was that I got your tinted windows instead by mistake. I am glad we got them because I thought the blinds all round would be good enough so we only ordered the visibility pack, but the tints are better.

Lol, unfortunately no.

They refunded me the difference in the option price, then they paid for a professional guy to film tint it - darker than it would have been - the end result is really good, although I will no doubt be out of pocket if a pane ever gets smashed.....

Film tint it? isn't is done by electro-chemical process on the spot? Or is that what you ment?

No, they used the 'film' stuff - rolls of plastic stuck on. The end result was superb, although got a few nicks and scratches in it now - joys of having 6 kids in the car ;)
