Hello fellow sufferers. Good to find someone who might know stuff!
Last year I jumped at the chance to get hold of another camper. We sold our other one just at the wrong time; just before lockdown!
Its a Bessacar on a Ducato 40 Maxi 130 M-Jet 2.3 litre on a 57 plate.
All was fine but she sems to eat batteries like I get through socks.
Recently had some clutch work done and also engine battery replaced as two cells dead in old one.
Two weeks later she won't start. When it was working, the start was very laid back, slugish but it would go eventually. Just when you imaggined the solenoid was going to start clicking it would jump into life.
So I took both batteries out, one is a 90 a/h the other 100a/h. Charged them in the warmth of the garage. Had them reading 13 plus volts.
Put one in...... No start just a couple of turnovers then the dreaded solenoid click.
tried adding the other battery on leads - still won't play ball.
I'm wondering if this may be the reason the previous owner sent it to auction.
What am I going to do now....?
Don't want to charge off and get another starter motor.
Also it is worse since I added a isolation switch on the earth side of the battery.
I can only view any ideas anybody has in the morning tomorrow. So don't think me rude if I dont reply immediately.
Chow!
