Hello all, new here and trying to resolve an engine problem.
Picked up a brand new camper last Friday on the Ducato base with 2.2 engine currently at 330 miles.
Almost home and orange engine management light comes on and power drops. I'm told it's covered by Fiat camper assist so tried to call them. After many calls and emails we have got to the point where they refuse to send a breakdown van because they don't recognise North Wales so don't cover it, I was told to sort it out myself, contact a dealership and take it to them, I was amazed how little they cared, it was an overseas call center,my hand book says best not to drive with the engine fault light on. Dealership is an hour and a half away and don't have appointments until end of Feb. So anybody replying on fiat camper assist might want to think again before coming to North Wales. The company I bought it from have been great but can only do so much. Am I expecting too much wanting a brand new van to be fixed?

Personally I would ask for a full refund and start again.
The sort of money involved in a purchase like that I would expect 100% back up from the supplier and no matter how helpful they appear to you there is no way the onus should be on you to get it fixed.
Surely "sale of goods act" etc. should back you up.

Without a doubt as the "official" system thats meant to help you is failing so badly by being both unresponsive and offering you bad advice which could further damage your new vehicle you should be DEMANDING a full refund and rejecting the vehicle!!.

Also considering the substantial investment involved if it was me I would be writing a STRONGLY worded letter/e-mail to Fiat uk C.E O. expressing my displeasure and demanding compensation for the stress worry and aggravation of the whole situation!.
Also i would seriously think again about spending my hard earned money with Fiat at all!- at this point surely there is an alternative manufacturer out there that better deserves your custom and can provide you with better service!.
EXTRA ESPECIALLY SHABBY SERVICE ONECE AGAIN FROM FIAT CUSTOMER SERVICES!

Thanks for you replies, I still have no reply from Fiat, 4 days now since the problem, I'm glad I wasn't stuck on the hard shoulder, having never owned a new vehicle I'm just reading now what I have to do to give it back, certainly wasn't expecting this with a new van. Thanks for your advice.

we all wish you get the right resolution to this!,please keep us up to speed with what is happening as things develop! please post fiats exact responses on here so the whole community can see how fiat treats customers these days!.

Hello, I have taken the advice here and just rejected the vehicle for a full refund before my 30 days runs out with holidays coming.
Still no positive response from fiat, they must be trying to work out where North Wales is, customer care must not be part of there business.
I will post what happens but I have no idea how long it takes to sort out.
Thanks James
