My N40i will not stick to my SeiSporting windscreen at all! :bang:

The flattest part seems to be just under the mirror, but it won't even stick their either. I've cleaned the glass many times (and the suction cup)

well firstly the windscreen of the sei isnt that curved so i couldnt see that being a problem. simple what to check it is a small flat object, like a coaster, put it up on the area your tryin to stick the satnav adn see if there much a gap in the middle. if there is move the coaster about to see if you can find a flatter area

also from what i can remember the n40 is a quite old about 2 years so is relativly big this could be a problem if the suction cup is a pressure one as these arent as effective as the ones which use a lever mechanism to pull the centre of the cup up to make the enclosed volume larger

...It's definately the factory-supplied suction cup that's at fault; just tried a small Street Pilot mount and it sticks fast, even to the far right of the steering wheel. The original suction cup is just way too wide and has very little suction.

Trouble is, the ball is slighlty larger and won't seat properly in the n40i socket, otherwise this would have been perfect. It holds the weight of the n40i well, so what I need is a small surface area clamped cup...

yea pretty much, go into halfords or some place like that, bring your sat nav and check and see if any of the sat nav model balls fit in yours, get one with a lever. garmins suction cup is much better than tom tom and when using it your will see why

Another cause can be grease on the windscreen. Happens with time. Get some newspapers and distilled transparent vinegar (or transparent window cleaner), clean the windscreen and the suction cup, try again.

Don't forget to ventilate the car afterwards thoroughly as vinegar stinks lol

that just a flat bit of plastic that imitates a windscreen for cars or vans wer the windscreen is too far away so they suck to that instead. you can copy this by using a coaster of something of that nature

i own a garmin but quite like tom toms ability of map corrections which i wish mine could do :(
