Stilo My stilo from Portugal

Introduction

Hi guys,

I just arrived here at the fiat forum and i would like to show you my stilo. I'm from Portugal and my stilo is a 1.9 jtd 115hp

I have done just a few mods, I tinted the back windows as well as the back lights. I have also bough a lester mesh grill for the front but it hasn't arrived yet.

What do you think of my car?
Very nice car maximo I personaly dont like tinted lights but thats just my opinion are you going to do anything else to the car ? Lester grill is :slayer: by the way I have the full kit near enough on my 5dr (y)

I still haven't decided yet.
I thought of lowering it a bit (maybe eibachs 30mm) but i'm afraid it will b to lose to the ground. Even as it is, if i hit a bump or pass in a slightly higher rock, the plastic protection under the motor hits the ground.

Also, i like the suplementary lights from lester to fit the front bumper, but if i buy that i shoud buy the other grill. But i don't know if it would look ok, with all that mesh. Does anyone have a black stilo with the lester kit?

Apart from that, i don't what to mess a lot with the look of the car. I am not a big fan of massive bumpers or big wings.

I haven't got massive front and rear bumpers just the front and rear spoilers which can be seen on their site as you know and I have the tailgate spoiler I also have front and rear light covers from ICC tuning. I didn't do the lowering as I think the same as you with all the speed bumps and pot holes here in the UK I decided not to do it there are available though from www.gaz-shocks.com a gas adjustable shock which is ride adjustable you can get them for the front and the rear (y)

I wasn't talking about your car (wich, by the way, i think looks very good), sorry if i gave you that idea.

About the lowering, it's not a priority right now.
And how about the mesh grills in the front bumper do you think that they would look good in my car?

The upper grill looks very good I personaly dont like the lower mesh grills on the 3dr again thats my opinion :) I have the upper grill on mine and it looks

A priority should be to get it re-mapped if you can. Again, nice car that could be improved by being yellow. :)

I've heard jtd that have gone up to 170hp. Would it be safe to the engine? What would be the maximum without sacrificing the engine?

About the colour, yellow is good and i like it. but it's just to... yellow! :D
Black just rocks :slayer:

170 gets clutch problems in some cases according to some sources. I woud stick with 155 unless the experts tell me it's safe to go higher.

That Stilo looks great!! Black lights..pimping! (y)

My lester front grill is driving me mad! I ordered it a month ago and still don't have it. I though it would be a peace of cake because the importer is just 500 meters from where i work but they said 2 weeks to delivery and still... (n)

i like the lights not to dark, but go well with the colour of the car and window tints and blend in nicely (y)

Go for a remap (y)

wait for the grille, i have a lester one and they transform the front end - make it look so much meaner :) make sure you get black mesh though! As silver will look a little silly on your car!

Thanks to all you guys for your quind replys.

I should have talked sooner about the grill because it arrived yesterday, i will now paint it black (same color as the car) and fit it in my car. in the beggining of next week my stilo will have a new look (y)

About the grill, the mesh is not attached to the frame, it is just a rectagle, i will have to mount it properly. I was counting with something a bit more "professional". But no worry, i have it now :)

car looks nice mate quick question for you what size are the tyres standard size for these alloys are 215/45/17 they look more low profile than mine are they 205/45/17 or 205/40/17 if they are a 40 profile surely this affects the speedo and gearing it looks good though can you let me know (y)

the tyres are 215/45/17, the standard size. They are goodyear eagle F1 in the front and uniroyal in the back (i know i shouldn't do that but the uniroyal where a good deal at the time and they are not bad at all).

Yes, I did it myself and it was quite easy (at least in my opinion).

I just unmounted the lights, this is not really necessary but the finishing will be better, and then, with varnish (i think that is the correct name, sorry for my poor english) mixed with a little black paint applied as many layers as you whant with a spray gun. Have into consideration that the more layers you apply the darker it gets.
If it gets too dark you can always polish it after it has dryed out. The more you polish, the lighter it gets, always the same logic... :)

There are other ways as you may have read in other threads, this one is just another one.

P.S. Good luck to you and your car, i just read what happened...
