Hi, :)

the emergency procedure is just that.. ECU will need a reset at a dealer.( that's what owners manual states anyway.. never had to use it.

RED KEY..??
I'd think that all keys should be BLUE by that date..

Hi Again,
OK the RED key and 2 x blue slave keys was the OLD system,
I'd expect your car to have 2 x blue = master keys from new.

the emergency start-up procedure in the manual involves inputting a CODE via sequenced pressing of the throttle pedal, it's supposed to be a single use method - just so you can drive to as Dealer to get the fault fixed.

there will be an "aerial" around the ignition lock that reads the key CHIP, worth checking the wiring to that, A key supplier can probably confirm if the keys chip is operational.

TBH.. main dealer prices would be scary.., :(

ask an Indy FIAT / ALFA place.. they tend to use the official "examiner" software that can load keys into ECU.

maybe minirib knows what else would work..??,

(I'd be reluctant to spend £260 on a key , when the whole car's worth little than that..)

What was the reason for it not cranking previously? Don't get to work on many Seicento's but you should have the off white delphi immobiliser box which is also used on the Ducato's which i see all the time. On the Ducato they suffer from a couple of common problems.
The more common problem tends to be the data in the code box under the dash getting corrupted. Normally after cranking on a low battery or jump starting.
The other problem I have come across more than once is reduced range of the induction coil that reads the key around the ignition barrel. Caused by failing solder joints and components in the code box. If this is the case then unclipping the coil and holding it around the key when switching the ignition on should allow it to start.
I need to drop by a friends shop in Guildford at some point next week. If you want I can take a look and see if your code box is corrupted or not whilst i'm over that way.

I had this problem before and it was due to the earth cable from the engine to the body of the car. Check that and ensure its not come loose like mine did :)

worth checking as I suspect things were disturbed during the non-cranking fix.:)
Any chance the dashboard looks like this when you put the key and turn it too MAR?

Also when you turn the key do you hear a slight clicking sound?

If so it's the same problem that I had, other than that i'll try google as much as I can for you buddy.
