Brought a doblo 15 plate 1.3 multijet about e or 4 months ago, thing was spotless in engine bay, however it failed its mot today on an excessive oil leak and excessive smoke, thing is I haven't actually needed to top up oil at all since I've had it and still exactly where it was when brought it.

Mot tester said understand was cover in oil, I've dropped it off at a garage to day for inspection to see if worth fixing but no idea where it's leaking from, if at all, bloke I brought it have had the oil breather pipe replaced at sump as that was split / leaking, with proof it was done.

But this says front of engine can't see any oil from usual seals I.e crank seak, cam seals, head gasket, rocker cover, oil filter housing etc and no leaks externally on turbo.

Obvs going have wait and see what he says tomorrow but hoping it's just old oil that needs steaming off. Would usually do it my self but not this time of year in wet and cold

Was engine fully warmed up re smoke?
Was it a "fast fit" type place hoping to generate income?
Usually they just advise if oil leak not too bad.:(

Ya was a place litterally just does mots taken quite a few of my cars there in past dont usually fail unless have to but was a tester id never seen before .
Smoke was when engine was warmed up, I'd put some cleaner in day before and taken it a good run morning of mot. So could of made it worse I guess, oil leak he said all underneath of engine was covered in excess oil but I've not noticed a leak as I said havent had top it up yet might of used a smidge but not much at all. lad I got it off changed the oil breather that was split and leaking so possibly could be old oil and just want cleaning off perhaps.

More bothered about the excess smoke might need a good dpf / carbon clean and injectors flushing it's in garage today so I'll see what he says first

Well just got back from garage, said defo no oil leak just looks like old oil absolutely everywhere which is what I thought, said smoking is either a bad injector or bad injector seal so for price I've just ordered a full set of recon Injectors for £255 for peace of mind
