Hi folks.. OK I have just become the proud owner of a MMcLouis camper on a fiat ducato 2003 2L JTD chassis .. Two issues only so far..
first the blower fan.. works on speeds 1 & 2 but not 3,4,max.. reading around the internet seems the resistor is a common issue.. found mine, checked the connectiuons, all fine, no corrosion, no sign of overheating BUT turn the fan on and in a few seconds its too hot to hold. is this normal? I'd assume not but i thought i'd ask before just buying one anyway. The actual rotary switch feels like its broken inside anyway, sticks and grinds and I have to wiggle it about to get it to work on speed 2 anyway.. neither are expensive so I'll probably just buy both. just looking for advice.
second rear brakes.. it failed the CT/MOT with the rear drums not braking evenly, right works ,left half power.. given that it failed on the same fault 4 years ago according to the paperwork just reversed I'm assuming that the auto adjust to take up the slack as the shoes wear is just rubbish? reasonable assumption? easy fix, clean, grease etc or just replace with a new one and new shoes while i have it dismantled?
happy to join this group.
