Hi there
my wife has had her Panda for around 5 yrs now. Not long after she bought it the engine light would come on when ever she switched from petrol to gas. It would be perfectly ok running on the petrol mode but remain on when gas was selected and stay on until the petrol mode was selected again. The car runs perfectly, it has 90,000 km on the clock and we have had no other problems with it.
She would like to trade it in for a newer Fiat but it would be difficult to trade it with the light on.
Has anyone an idea what the problem could be? Thanks for any advice.

There aren't many LPG owners on the forum so replies might be a bit thin on the ground.

To me it sounds like there's a fueling problem when it's running on LPG, it could be running rich/lean on the stuff and the ECU can't trim the fueling enough to correct it, that's quite common for LPG cars.

You could read the code that will be stored due to the engine light and it should give you a clearer picture, but you probably need a specialist to sort it.
You could do a few basic checks first though, like make sure there's no exhaust or intake leaks.

I believe LPG is more common in Italy, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding someone that's able to help locally.
