Loom connector ?

hi guys,while sorting out an earth issue with my new purchase i stumbled upon this (pictured). can anyone shed light as to what it is for?

Some cars use sections of the wiring harness that fits multiple models, so the connector may be for the diesel version or automatic etc.
Put it back where you found it and don't worry.

I think I remember that the purple plug is for electric headlamp (height) adjuster motors...

If so, then you would also have a similar plug on the other side of the car.

I think i've seen one of those going into my fuse-box on the lefthand-side of my 1.2 petrol-panda, but it could be anything (I think it was blue though, but unsure)
