hi everyone,
I'm new here so let me introduce myself (or rather my Panda)
I drive a 1993 Panda 1000 CLX (fire)
Currently it has run 100,000 km's (that's some 62,500 miles).
I was wandering how many more miles (or km's) I could (typicaly) expect before the motor totally wears out.
Thanks,
Anke

You have the same year/model as me. :)

Welcome to the forum. Some of the members here have a vast knowledge of the Panda and should answer your question in more depth.

I would say that like any car it depends on how well you maintain it and service it. With regular maintainance and oil changes it should see well over 150,000 miles if not more.

1993 CLX, 999 "FIRE"... Me too...

Regarding the life of the engine, there are documentrd cases running well over 200K miles.

As an aside, I had the head off mine yesterday (primarily due to neglect before I got it - water instead of antifreeze/corrosion inhibitor. ) and having a look at the bores there was no step at the top, and the honing marks* were still clearly visible.

It has 93K miles on the clock.

I'd guess the bodywork is more of a worry than the engine (in the UK with salty roads and a damp climate).

* fine spirals of about a one turn down the length of the bore, put there during manufacture: to retain a bit of oil and consequently keep wear down.
As long as they're still there, there's still some life left in the cylinders.

Hi, and welcome.
Sandra's Panda 4x4 has clocked up 110,000 miles and is just starting to show signs of needing a new head gasket.

I've got 152000km on one engine and it still pulls nice or did until i scrapped the car, i still have the engine but the chassis was falling apart something fiat needs to work at :mad:BTW acording to the previous owner it's only had a headgasket change once at 30k
