Technical LCD Dashboard

Hi all

Can somebody help me

I have recently replaced my LCD in the dashboard with a new chip as it wasn’t displaying anything. It just lit up the screen. Once I fitted the new chip it worked perfectly and displayed all information on screen like date,time, mileage etc. After about a week the screen has gone blank again and displaying something but it still lights up. Can anyone help me or has anyone had this problem before and know what causes the display to go blank?
Like I said I’ve replaced it with a new chip so unsure what else it could be

The LCD panels do not like the damp. If your car is left outside during the winter, the display is likely to fail due to condensation, and it will probably come back during the summer if there is a run of hot days. Running the car with the heater can help, but you must also let the air through the car to carry the moisture away. It is hard to get dry air outside in a British winter...
