Multipla £50 multipla purchase

Introduction

So having been an admin on the Facebook group, ugly bug ball for some time now. I’ve always been able to keep track on multipla’s and what is for sale and where

I’d seen a post with no photos advertising a multipla and with it being local I had to jump on it and having 1 zender kitted multipla in this colour and being sent photos of this being the same colour I purchased it in mind I could rob the front wings off it to replace my faded ones.

Work required for failed mot.

New bump stop mounts

Probably new bump stops

Rear axle bushes

Drop links

And before sale.

Full service

Clean up plastics and make nice.

Having bought this as a mot failure on the rear subframe bushes, as soon as I got the chance too I’d immediately got set to work with removing the rear axle and luckily enough having a smooth process thanks to previously someone having removed it and putting copper slip on all 4 bolts making my life easier and the subframe mounts being solid without any crust!

To work!

Rear subframe bushes removed I did this by pushing the degraded rubber out with a screw driver and then using a dremal cutting the out casing allowing me to tap out the remains of the bushes.

Having done this and having been left with a near bare subframe I decided the rear subframe turrets/bump stop cones were beyond salvageable and needed sorting.

I’d bought what I thought would be a pair off auto doc x2 as said in the “number of items”

But 1 arrived at the cost of £90 but having complained about the lack of clearness in the quantity had another one delivered at the cost of £50 😬

I’d drilled three holes positioned exactly to how the originals were and spot welded them back on in place.

Good going - mental that those cones cost more than the car!😄
I would agree with you on Autodoc. I have seen items listed x2 before - I think it was the Bilstein front shocks for my Cinquecento. I knew they came one damper one box so I ordered two and unsurpringly two arrived a couple of days later.
It's probably how the Germans think, that x2 means you will need two of them, ie if you were sensible if you had one knackered shock absorber you'd replace the other side, same with a rotten cone.
Glad this Multipla will be back on the road.

Now finished and ready to be sold on.

Last photo of it next to my zender kitted mk1

Point of interest, how much did this sell for? I have a desire to possibly buy one of these (original bug eye) but they seem few and far between and in very shoddy condition whenever I see one for sale.

£1750

This was in fantastic condition underneath and ran perfectly but both rear doors were damaged.

But would’ve been a candidate worth putting through to bodywork
